Lier rock workshop / music workshop is not only one of the Drammen area's best venues for young bands, but also a great cultural offer for those who want to pursue music / band in his spare time! Since its inception in 1984, hundreds of youths had fixed abode here, in what many have called "his second home". Lier Music workshop, as it later became known, has always had a stable and large user of youth 12 to 20 years. More popular concepts have been developed over time, including Open Stage and Café LMV. The focus on education, with both established musicians and older youth as instructors, have been a major part of the offer at music workshop.
Many prominent bands have started their careers at the Music Lier, including Jessica Fletchers, Baby Lotion, Ever Gary, Toksick Dandruff and guitarist Peter Michelsen frame band Donkeyboy.
